How did I get here?
- GCSEs, A Levels and College
- Apprentice Application Developer with Fujitsu / NWRC
- Moved to Associate Application Development then Application Developer
What do I do?
- I work on several apps to develop add-ons, updates and fixes
- Provide user end support for all issues users come up with
What is good about my job?
- Given a good deal of independence and trust to complete our work
- Great, healthy work / life balance working 9-5 Monday to Friday
- Good pay, good holidays and a good chance of progression
What soft skills are important in my job?
- Communicating effectively with users, customers and team members
- Multi-tasking and managing my time
- Problem solving along with creative and critical thinking
My one piece of advice to school students:
Do not sit still – keep progressing and doing your best. Push yourself hard each day and make employers value you highly.
What I wanted to be at age 11?
I wanted to be a jet pilot but as I am colour blind this dream was over
